Canciones sin Fronteras: featuring Arnulfo Velázquez

This night will be one for the books! An ensemble of classically trained musicians bringing their world-class talent to our intimate stage. This will be a ticketed "listening room show" and TICKETS CAN BE FOUND HERE

Canciones sin Fronteras is a musical ensemble recently created to
perform and promote the music of México and Latin America. Its
members are:

 Beatrice Velázquez -- - cello and vocals
 Liudvik Cutiño Cruz-- piano and arrangements
 Alfredo Quiahuitl Villegas -- -- percussions
 Arnulfo Velásquez -- - vocals

Each one of them bring to the ensemble a vast amount of musical and
artistic experiences along with their passion for the performing arts as
tools for education and social transformation.

Bea Velásquez is a classically trained cellist who has performed with
numerous orchestras and other ensambles in Tucson, Phoenix and
Santa Fe, NM. She is also a DJ and a composer-performer of electronic
music. Her everyday life spins around the causes of LGBTQ populations,
especially with youth.

Liudvik Cutiño is a Cuban pianist and singer with a long trajectory as a
musical director and as a performer. In his natal Holguin, Cuba, he was
the director of the vocal ensamble “Alma” for several years. In Sonora,
México, he worked as a music educator and as a performer of Sones and
other jewels of the Cuban songbook for about seven years.
Alfredo Quiahuitl Villegas, has been at drumming for 17 years in a wide
range styles from Afro Brazilian to Noise. He has had the opportunities
to direct children carrying the sound (drum and dance group for
children and you), Sol axe (community Afro Brazilian inspired adult
group) and the assistant director of Jovert steel drum samba program at
tucson high school. Quiahuitl Villegas is a firm believer of exploration
and manipulation of sounds as well as finding ways to push the
boundaries of what we perceive music to be.

Arnulfo Velásquez is a trained tenor, an experienced recitalist of Latino
American and Italian songs who worked for fifteen years as a chorister
with the Arizona Opera Company. Velásquez has performed in many stages of Tucson, as well as theaters in Sonora and México City. He is
Tucsonian by adoption since 1994. For over twenty years he has
worked as a middle school math educator in bilingual public school
