Join Gabrielle Pietrangelo & Beth Daunis for and evening of transformative and hypnotic indie-folk at their debut performance on January 19th. Beth & Gabrielle have long been icons of the Tucson music scene and have been collaborating for years, all the way back to the golden era of the Silver Thread Trio. Their new project has grown from a shared intention to create heartfelt music that can bring a light of calm into the world. Together, they create a unique sound that is driven by layers of trance-inducing violin, open-tuned guitar and ethereal harmonies. The concert will be recorded live by Jim Blackwood.

The daughter of two accomplished pianists, Beth's destiny has always been to follow the muse wherever it leads her. Born and raised in the Happy Valley of Western MA, she felt the cosmic pull of the Southwest from a very early age and knew the muse would eventually guide her there. Beth’s technical training culminated with years at Bennington College studying under the brilliant violinist Diane Pascal, who taught her that playing an instrument is, in its highest expression, a deep spiritual practice and offering to the world. Beth has spent over a decade in the musical field discovering new and varied ways to communicate through sound. Her life-long passion for reconnecting with the earth and with our humanity in the digital age, is delicately and inextricably woven into every note she plays. She released her first solo record, The Shape of Spirit, in 2014. Beth has performed and recorded in an astonishing array of genres; flamenco (Domingo DeGrazia), reggae (General Tchefary), Americana (Sister Solace; Silver Thread Trio; Reno del Mar), New Age (Alex Holland), and is noted for her wild, soulful and effortless melodies.

Gabrielle Pietrangelo: Vocals. Guitar. Keyboards.
Raised in Tucson, Gabrielle’s passion for music has been inspired by the open space and deep skies of the Sonoran desert. Starting out as a singer-songwriter in the late 90’s, Pietrangelo released a debut solo album that first captured her love of finger-picking and ethereal, spiritually minded folk songs. She spent years studying harmony and music theory at the U of A, graduating with a vocal music degree in 2007. Her love of the voice and arrangement, led to over a decade of recording and developing harmony based ensembles in Tucson, including Silver Thread Trio, a 3-part harmony group, that collaborated with many of Tucson’s best musicians including Calexico, How Gelb, Sergio Mendoza y la Orkesta and national acts such as Amos Lee. Pietrangelo’s most recent projects include the American folk harmony group, Sister Solace, and the yoga inspired indie group, Chaparral Kirtan Band, who will be releasing their first album in June of 2019. Pietrangelo also runs a thriving music studio that offers instruction in voice and multiple instruments. Gabrielle believes in the power of the human voice to open the heart, create connection and touch a thread of humanity we all share.
